This training introduces participants to psychological first aid for children.

This training is designed for teachers and others who work directly with children, focusing on providing psychosocial support in times of distress. It is intended to help educators support children and their caregivers during challenging situations, promoting emotional well-being in both the classroom and at home.

The training aims to enable participants to:

- know more about children’s reactions to distress
- know what psychological first aid for children is and what it is not
- understand the three action principles of ‘Look, Listen and Link’ in relation to children
- practise providing PFA to a child and caregiver in distress
- consider complex reactions and situations
- be aware of the importance of self-care when helping others.

The training will be conducted in English, with additional support or explanations offered in Icelandic if needed.

The training will take place at Kvan in Hábraut 1a, 200 Kópavogur.

Snacks, coffee and tea will be provided, as well as a light lunch.

This training is funded by the EU4Health program of the European Commission and is offered free of charge for participants.
