The Icelandic Res Cross provides various services to refugees, f.ex. guiding friend, language training, recreational fund and more.
Tracing services and family reunification
Icelandic Red Cross is part of the Restoring family links network and is the focal point for family reunification in Iceland. Please note that our services are open to all nationals and free of charge.

Network after imprisonment
There are many things to keep in mind when imprisonment ends and it is important to have support when such a major change occurs. It can be good to have support and guidance. For that we have the project Network after imprisonment.
Helpline 1717 and chat 1717.is
No issue is too big or small for the helpline. Annually we receive about 15.000 contacts that are as diverse as they are many. Our volunteers are professionally trained, well-experienced and of all ages.
Psychological first aid
The Red Cross provides education in psychological support and provides psychological support after major accidents and catastrophes.
Harm reduction
The projects offer clean injection equipment, condoms and advice on safe injection methods in order to prevent bloodborne diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C.
First aid
The Icelandic Red Cross supervises the teaching of first aid in the country. It trains instructors, supplies the material to be taught and makes sure the subject is taught by the most up to date methods.
Social isolation
The friendship projects of the Icelandic Red Cross take a variety of forms, but all have the common goal of reducing social isolation.
