Continuing education for those who have previously completed the Basic Course in Water Safety and Rescue for lifeguards, swimming instructors and swimming coaches at swimming and bathing facilities.

The course is intended for individuals who plan to continue working at swimming and bathing facilities that the public has access to.

The aim of the continuing education course is to provide participants who have a valid certificate in Water Safety and Rescue, the opportunity to review the main subjects of Water Safety and Rescue with an emphasis on practical skills and case exercises.

Skill assessment according to Annex III of the regulations on hygiene in swimming and bathing facilities takes place during the course.

ATTENTION!! Participants must bring a swimsuit with them, along with a long-sleeved shirt and pants.

Certificate

In order to receive a certificate in Water Safety and Rescue, participants must attend the entire course and demonstrate active participation in all aspects of the course:
-Discussions and questions.
-Practical exercises and case exercises.
-Pass a competency assessment (only those who work in water and have to pass a competency assessment according to regulations)

Lifeguards are issued the following certificate: Lifeguard and it is valid for one year from the date of issue.

Swimming instructors, swimming coaches and handlers who work in a pool where there is no lifeguard are issued the following certificate: Water Safety and rescue + competency assessment, and the validity period depends on the participant's job and education.

General employees of sports facilities, handlers and swimming instructors who have completed a sports science program at university level or an equivalent older degree before 2014 are issued the following certificate: Water Safety and rescue and the validity period depends on the work and education of the participant.

To maintain your rights, you must attend continuing education course and pass a competency assessment before your certificate expires. A 30-day grace period is given on either side of the day the certificate expires.

If your license has expired for more than 6 months, you must take a basic course in Water Safety and Rescue to get your license again, and pass a competency assessment according to regulations.

Please note that participation is a prerequisite for the course.

The participation fee is not refunded if the course is shorter than three days and a medical certificate is not available. After the course has started, the participation fee is non-refundable.

Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch.
